On November 2, 2024, the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Co-operative Credit Union made history by hosting World Savings Day outside Accra for the very first time. The groundbreaking event took place in Winneba and welcomed participation from several schools, including P-Amass Apam SHS, Uncle Rich SHS, Zion Girls SHS, and Winneba SHS.

The day was packed with engaging activities designed to promote savings and financial literacy among students. Highlights included a poetry contest, a painting exhibition, and a spirited debate competition, where P-Amass SHS claimed victory. These activities not only fostered critical thinking about the importance of saving but also encouraged creative expression and teamwork among participants.

The event was made possible through the support of key partners such as AES Credit Union, Workers Credit Union – Winneba, CUA Central Chapter, DSik, and the UEW Credit Union Ltd. Their collaboration underscored the shared commitment to financial empowerment and community development.

This milestone event showcased the power of collective effort in spreading financial awareness and inspiring the next generation to embrace a culture of saving and responsibility.
